Road Trips
Our Road Trips are three day events that give patrons the opportunity to get "on the road" and visit each of the eight picturesque winery locations in a self-directed tour that will take them through the true heart of Texas. Our map page can help you plan your route, and you'll want to visit each winery where you'll find unique wine and food pairings, wonderful wines, special gifts, entertainment and true Texas hospitality. Every Road Trip is unique, just like our wineries!
Road Trip patrons get a three day weekend to visit each winery in whatever order they choose. At each winery, they will get to taste all of the wines and a wine and food pairing that features one of the wines, plus a gift. Past events have featured Riedel tasting glasses, picnic backpack sets, barbecue tool sets and souvenir glasses. Perhaps the best part of the Road Trips, however, are all of the new friends that our "road trippers" make and meet along the way.
Event Hours
All of the WOW wineries will be open the same hours for the three day Road Trip events. Please check the winery websites for hours on other weekends.
- Friday - 10:00AM to 6:00PM
- Saturday - 10:00AM to 6:00PM
- Sunday - Noon to 5:00PM
* NOTE: These hours apply to all 3 day events. Regular winery hours apply for two-day and/or free events.
Who are we, anyway?
The Way Out Wineries is a group of boutique wineries in an area of the state you can generally describe as the "middle", from the north part of the Texas Hill Country to just south of the metroplex.
Rolling hills, wide horizons, big skies and picturesque towns are part of what our "corner" of the state has to offer - tailor made for weekend road trips! So, we decided to get together and host some special events to make these road trips memorable.
The Way Out Wineries urge you to always drink responsibly. Road Trip patrons will always be served modest portions when tasting our wines to make sure everyone gets to visit all of our wineries safely. If you plan to drink wines that you purchase during your Trip, please make sure that you have a designated driver for your group. The Way Out Wineries reserve the right to refuse to serve anyone who may have overindulged.
St. Patrick's Day Road Trip [03/13/10]
The WOW will be puttin' on the green, March 13th in celebration of St Patrick's Day. Each WOW winery will have a great wine tasting and something "green" for you. Green wine? well, maybe! Come and see. Wear green yourself or suffer the consequences. This is a complimentary event, no ticket required. Wildflower Road Trip [05/02/10]
Central Texas is in for a boomer year for wildflowers and no better time to see it than the Way Out Wineries Wildflower Road Trip April 30-March 2. Select your starting winery to pick up your official souvenir wine tasting glass. Take it and your ticket to each winery for a complimentary wine tasting and a special wine and food pairing. The dish of the day will be pasta! Try the various takes on pairing wine with a pasta dish. Pick up the recipes and the wines to go with them. Your fabulous logoed wine glass will be a reminder of your visit to wine country during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Tickets available online for $15 per person. Tickets are good for all three days, one glass per ticket, complimentary tastings/pairings at all eight wineries.
